Great Faskally Treasure Hunt

Great Faskally Treasure Hunt

For those who use Faskally House in Pitlochry, you might be interested in this quiz. It's designed around a similar concept to the Treasure Island quiz, but uses Faskally's layout instead.

Login first to download. File available at the end of the page.

The back story I normally use is that Lord Faskally's great great great grandfather was a pirate on the high seas and on his last journey brought some of the treasure back to Faskally House.

Tips

  1. I like to build in a bit of suspense with this one and ask the kids if they heard strange noises during the night. When they start to look interested you can then go on and tell them that the leaders were out hunting for the Faskally Treasure and managed to find it.
  2. If you have a small treasure chest at your disposal, a nice added touch is to fill it with chocolate coins or "Gold Bars" of the confectionery variety.
  3. There is an X available in the powerpoint that can indicate where the treasure has been buried. You'll need to change where it appears to keep it fresh.
  4. Alternatively, get someone to choose a location beforehand and get them to write it down and unveil it at the end.
